What is a domain backorder?
A domain backorder is a request to register a name the moment it becomes available again after it expires and is deleted. You place it while the name is still in its expiry cycle, and the backorder shows its status until the name drops and the result is known.
What do I pay when a backorder succeeds?
Your plan covers the service. You pay the domain's registration fee, the price of the name itself, only when a backorder succeeds and the name is on your account. There is no separate fee for a caught name.
What happens when several members backorder the same name?
When several members backorder the same name, it goes to a private auction between them and the winner pays the closing bid. Only members who held a backorder on that name can bid.
How is the value score calculated?
The value score from 0 to 100 combines length, dictionary words, extension weight, commercial category, brandability, hyphens and digits, and pronounceability. The drivers and their direction are published on the domain appraisal page, and every score shows the drivers behind it.
Can I set a budget for automated rules?
Yes. Every rule has a maximum price per name and a minimum value score. On Portfolio and Enterprise each rule also has its own monthly budget, and the rule stops placing backorders when the budget is used.
Which extensions can I scan?
Starter covers 30 extensions, including .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai and .co. Pro, Portfolio and Enterprise cover every supported extension, with advanced filters and saved searches.
How do alerts work?
Add names to a watchlist and Domaining alerts you when a name changes status or gets close to its drop date. Starter sends a daily digest, Pro sends alerts in real time, and Portfolio adds webhooks for your own tools.
How does escrow work on the marketplace?
The buyer pays into escrow, the seller transfers the name, and the payment is released to the seller once the transfer is confirmed. Escrow is included in every plan with no commission on the sale.
Can I park names I list?
Yes. Parked names show a clean for-sale page with the price or an offer form, so a visitor who types the name can buy it. Starter parks up to 100 names, Pro up to 2,500 and Portfolio has no cap.
Do you guarantee I get a name?
No one can guarantee the result of a drop. What we guarantee is how you pay: you pay the registration fee only when a name is yours, and your plan price stays the same whatever the result.
Can my team share one account?
Yes. Pro includes 2 seats and Portfolio includes 5 seats with owner, buyer and viewer roles. Enterprise adds unlimited seats, granular roles, SSO and an audit log.
Is there an API?
Yes. Portfolio includes API access with 50,000 requests per month for the expiring list, scores, appraisals, backorders and watchlists. Enterprise sets custom API limits.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Plans renew monthly or yearly until you cancel, and your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
Can I try Domaining before I pay?
There is no free plan. The drop scanner and rule tester on this page and the value estimator for up to 20 names are a one-time trial that you can use without an account.
How is my data handled?
Your watchlists, rules and backorders are private to your account and are never shown to other members. We collect only what we need to run the service and handle personal data under the GDPR, as described in the privacy policy.
